The prestigious Kayserburg International Youth Piano Competition returns for its 42nd edition—offering young pianists in Singapore a world-class platform to showcase their talent and grow through international exposure.
Organised by Guangzhou Pearl River Piano Group and Kayserburg Piano Co., Ltd., this renowned competition continues its mission to discover and nurture the next generation of piano artists. For the Singapore region, Kayserburg Music School @ SMU is the organiser.
In addition to the Student and Open categories—where top winners will represent Singapore at the International Grand Finals in Xiamen, China—the Preliminary Round also includes Children, Junior, and Exam categories. These categories offer younger learners and developing players a valuable chance to gain experience and shine on stage.
With over S$100,000 in prizes, including a S$30,000 + RMB10,000 grand prize, the competition celebrates excellence at every level and provides a powerful springboard for musical growth.

Eligibility

The competition is open to Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents, and holders of valid Student Passes or Work Passes residing in Singapore. Piano teachers, professional musicians, and those who derive their principal source of income from public performances are not allowed to participate for the Student, Junior, and Exam Categories.

Registration

Performance repertoires must be clearly indicated in the Registration Form. Sheet music submission is not required. Registration fees must be paid in full at the time of registration. Registration fees are strictly non-refundable, except in the event of cancellation by the organiser. The organiser reserves the right to cancel or combine categories due to unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, a full refund will be provided.

Performance Guidelines

Participants are expected to wear their best performance attire. On the day of the competition, participants must follow the performance order set by the organising committee. Late arrivals may result in disqualification at the organiser’s discretion. Approaching judges before or during the competition is strictly prohibited.

Media, Copyright & Publicity

All photography, audio, and video recording during the competition will be conducted exclusively by the organiser. By participating, contestants agree to allow the organiser to use recorded materials, including images and video, for publicity and promotional purposes. No additional compensation will be provided for the use of these materials. All copyrights to recordings, photography, video productions, and related performances will belong to the competition committee.

Prizes

Prizes are non-transferable and not exchangeable for cash, goods, or services in part or in full. The organiser reserves the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without prior notice.

Other Important Notes

All transportation, accommodation, meals, and insurance expenses are to be borne by the participants. The organiser is not liable for any risks or incidents—including health-related matters—that occur during travel to/from the competition or at the venue. Any changes to the competition schedule will be announced on the official website. In the event of any dispute, the decision of the organising committee is final. By registering for the competition, participants automatically agree to abide by all Rules & Regulations. The organiser reserves the right to amend, interpret, or clarify any terms and conditions as deemed necessary.
